NMAP partnered with the Advancement Project and its local grassroots partner in Miami, Power U, to use the voices of youth to challenge the school to prison pipeline in Miami. Miami’s schools had been cracking down hard on youth in some of its low-income communities, and people, including the community itself, didn’t understand that kids who didn’t commit any crime were often the most impacted by zero tolerance school discipline. We produced a video to humanize the youth most affected by these policies in and to support a successful ballot initiative to end zero tolerance in Miami.
